A MESSAGE ABOUT OUR PASTOR

Welcome to Christ United Methodist Church! Rev. David Keyworth became our Pastor in July of 2023. He grew up in Midland, Michigan and graduated from Albion College with a major in History and a minor in Psychology. At Albion, David answered God’s call into ordained ministry while leading worship for their weekly chapel services. David then attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky just outside of Lexington. This is where David met the love of his life, Meghan.

David and Meghan were married in July 2014 and graduated from seminary together in 2015. David graduated with a Masters of Divinity. Meghan grew up in central PA and graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Major in German. She graduated with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary.

After receiving his Masters of Divinity degree, he was appointed to serve Wesley UMC in Tyrone, PA. Pastor David was ordained an Elder in 2020 while serving the Trinity Charge in Duncannon, PA.  He served there from 2018-2023. Since moving to PA, David has been very active in the Emmaus and Chrysalis communities.

After five long years of infertility and miscarriages, David and Meghan’s son Joshua was born on March 12, 2023. Joshua is the love of their lives. As a family, Meghan and David have a love for museums and history. They love animals and going to wildlife
rescues and zoos. They love playing board games together as well. Meghan, David, and Joshua also love to eat, trying different types of food.

One of David’s greatest joys in ministry is when people experience God in a different, deeper way. Two ways that God has given David gifts to help others meet God in a deeper, fuller way is through Bible Studies and music. As a trained vocal singer and someone who loves to play many different instruments, he believes that as children of God we can experience God through music. As children of God, each of us is called to read God’s word, and David loves exploring personally and together with others what God has to say to us through His word.

May 2015: we had a fire that destroyed our church. A fire fighter took this picture of an image of an angel hovering above the burning church.
